Paragliding Kilcunda

The Graveyard site, located between Kilcunda and Cape Patterson in Australia, is a coastal dune area suitable for student-rated pilots and above. The primary launch area is from the dunes, which are about 15 meters above sea level. The site is best suited for lighter winds, with a preferred takeoff from the west side of the path leading to the beach. Hazards to be aware of include the popular surf fishing spot directly below the takeoff area, which can be crowded with people and fishing equipment. The takeoff run is limited and has become overgrown, so pilots should watch out for undergrowth that could snag the control bar. For a safer launch, paraglider, student, and novice pilots might consider walking about 150 meters east along the beach to find less overgrown, though lower, dunes.
