Description
Located in the Czech Republic, this paragliding site offers a takeoff elevation of 1234 meters above sea level with a height difference of 700 meters. The start direction is west, with a wind azimuth ranging from 250° to 290°. This site is regularly used as an alternative takeoff point, making it suitable for thermal soaring and cross-country (XC) flights. The site record stands at 18.6 km.
When approaching for landing, be cautious of the high-voltage power lines and ensure you fly over them at a safe altitude. Additionally, be aware of frequent turbulence in the valley during increased north wind conditions.
Access to the start point is from Loučná nad Desnou. From the pub "U tygra," follow the serpentine road towards the upper reservoir of the Dlouhé Stráně pumped-storage hydroelectric plant. Near the wind turbines, turn right and pass by Terřeví chata, then proceed through the western basin of Kamenec to reach the start. You can access the start by car, cable car, or on foot.
