Conditions Optimales
Description
Located in the Czech Republic, this paragliding site offers a frequently used spot for soaring and good cross-country flights. The site is situated at an altitude of 1210 meters MSL with an elevation of 720 meters ALZ. The optimal wind direction ranges from 230° to 310°, making it suitable for both paragliding (PG) and hang gliding (HG).
Takeoff is from one of three ramps, covering directions from southwest to northwest. Access to the ramps is directly from a forest path that contours the western slope of Kamenec, starting from Tetřeví chata. Due to the presence of large rocks and stumps in the terrain below the ramps, it is advisable to ensure a successful takeoff on the first attempt.
The shortest route to the takeoff point is from the village of Loučná nad Desnou. From the pub 'U tygra,' head east up the winding forest road to the wind turbines. From there, turn right past Tetřeví chata and follow the contour of the western slope of Kamenec to the ramps.
Landing is on a large meadow near the barn in Loučná, approximately 200 meters north of the pub, then turn right. Be aware that electric fences may be present in some areas of the meadow. The landing zone is directly opposite the takeoff point and is easily visible from the ramps.
Near the landing area, there are high-voltage power lines. In case of insufficient altitude, an emergency landing can be made on a relatively large clearing next to the access forest road before reaching the high-voltage lines.
