Conditions Optimales
Description
Hornberg, located above Schönried and Gstaad, offers a variety of natural take-off options. This site is occasionally used and suitable for cross-country flights and evening soaring. It is particularly beautiful for evening flights when the wind is from the southwest to west. Most take-offs occur about 100 meters below the antenna.
This site is favorable in westerly conditions and valley winds but should be avoided during Föhn and Bise winds due to extreme turbulence. Pay attention to the Volte Flugplatz Saanen and only fly in the valley up to the landing site at Gruben.
Flight directions include north, south, and west, starting with a valley crossing.
