It has been noted for its suitability for hang gliding cross-country (HG XC) flights, particularly from 2012 to 2014. The site is considered 'world class' for hang gliders, although it appears to be closed currently.
The takeoff area is highly regarded, featuring about four takeoff lanes and a well-organized setup area. The conditions are favorable for climbing, with anabatic winds aiding takeoff. However, be aware that the wind tends to blow over the back starting from 2 PM local time.
