This location offers a medium-height takeoff of 5-25 meters. The takeoff can be challenging, especially in strong winds, as it requires launching from below. The site is not officially recognized or legal for paragliding as it is within a state park. Local soaring is possible here, but no flight logs have been found, although it has been used for flights.
To reach the takeoff point, walk down to the beach using the stairs and turn left. You will encounter approximately 100 yards of broken cliff faces ranging from 20-30 feet high, with a bowl at the end. Launching can be tricky; if the wind is 16 mph or more, choose a cliff face, back up into it, and attempt a running step-up launch from the beach into the lift band. This method works well under the right conditions, requiring a low gradient. If this doesn't work, good kiting skills are necessary to find a rock line to kite up.
Be aware that flying here is not legal, and it is better to avoid this site to maintain good relations with the California Park System. The beach can be dangerous, especially during high tide, so caution is advised. Although there have been no issues with park rangers so far, it is still a state beach, and there might be a loophole regarding the high tide section.
