Description
Las Trancas Airport Runway is a small soaring ridge best suited for paragliding in WNW wind conditions. The site is regularly used by hang gliders (HG) and a few paragliders (PG). Paragliders typically stay close to the ridge, while hang gliders can sometimes venture into the valley. Due to limited information, it's advisable to consult local pilots for more details.
Waddell Creek is a coastal cliff/slope located in the USA. It features a short bluff with occasional convergences, making it a dynamic flying site. However, it can produce substantial turbulence in northerly conditions, and there have been instances of gliders tumbling in the valley. A site introduction by local pilots is required, as the launch is on private property. Waivers need to be filled out and signed prior to flight. For more information, contact mbfhga@yahoogroups.com.
The launch is approximately 100 feet above mean sea level (MSL). Top landing requires about 75 to 100 feet above takeoff. The site is rated for H3 skills and is flyable most of the year, with the best wind direction being WNW. The site is regulated, so make sure to follow all guidelines and restrictions.
