Access to the launch site is possible via two routes:
1. From Flums Bahnhof, take the Postauto to Tannenboden, then continue with the cable car to Maschgenkamm.
2. From Unterterzen, take the cable car to Tannenboden and then continue to Maschgenkamm.
Launch Directions and Difficulty:
- North, East, Southeast, West, Northwest: Medium difficulty
The launch area is a moderately steep alpine meadow. After takeoff, fly west until you have cleared the wooden fence, then follow the ridge north. Be cautious of potential turbulence when crossing the fence, depending on thermal updrafts.
- East: High difficulty
The launch area is a steep, rocky, and uneven meadow below the garden restaurant. This launch is recommended only for experienced pilots.
Special Notes:
When searching for thermals towards Schilstal, avoid losing too much altitude and fly north out of the valley. A high-voltage power line crosses the entire Schilstal at the valley exit.
