Not recommended with strong north/south winds. The Brusti, locally known as 'Brüschti', is accessible via the cable car from Attinghausen. It is ideal for beautiful morning flights due to its easy takeoff terrain. However, caution is advised in the afternoon when valley winds from the Reusstal can cause turbulence at both the takeoff and landing sites. In case of strong valley winds, it is recommended to land at the sports field. Remarks: - Official takeoff site - Walking time: 2 min - Hazards: Some hay cables (refer to the obstacle map from PDC Uri) - Not recommended to take off with Föhn >2 HPa and strong SW winds Attinghausen is located on the left bank of the Reuss River, approximately 469 meters above sea level, near Flüelen, Bürglen, and Altdorf/Schattdorf. Brüsti is a hiking area above Attinghausen, ranging from 469 m (Attinghausen) to 2291 m (Surenenpass). It is a popular starting point for the six-and-a-half-hour hike over the Surenenpass to Engelberg or vice versa. There are also beautiful hiking routes from Brüsti or via Gitschital down to the valley floor, offering a splendid view over the Reusstal. Since summer 2004, there has been an informative evolution trail near the cable car mountain station, professionally designed by students. The flying site is well-suited for morning flights due to its east orientation. In the afternoon, strong valley winds in Flüelen are common and must be taken into account. With a greater altitude difference compared to the neighboring Gitschenberg area, it is easy to reach further flight points, such as Schächental (Bürglen, Eggbergen). Difficulty: - Some cables, as usual: transport cables to various houses on the neighboring Alps. - The valley wind is well-known and should not be underestimated.
