Parapente Arran Glen Shant

Glen Shant is a paragliding site with a height of 344 meters. The site is best suited for wind directions from the southwest, but it can also accommodate south and southeast winds. To access Glen Shant, take the B880 and turn up Glen Rosa, parking at the campsite. Cross the river and head up the hill on the right. The parking coordinates are NR 994 379. From there, walk up the main track until you pass through a gate in a deer fence. Turn right and follow the fence to the burn, crossing it via the water gate. Continue along the tree line directly up the hill for about 800 meters, then swing left above the rocks. The takeoff point is at grid reference NR 994 388. Fly in light to moderate winds, as strong winds can cause rotor from the opposite hill. The top landing area is good, and the bottom landing areas are spacious. You can land in the field next to your car, except during lambing season when you must land outside the deer fence, which requires a slightly longer walk back to the car.
