Description
Eggberge, located in the Uri region of Switzerland, is a popular paragliding site with an elevation range of 1460-1600 meters. The site offers multiple take-off options and the possibility of top landing. You can also start from lower altitudes if preferred.
The Eggberge paragliding area boasts a height difference of over 1000 meters, making it the most favored site in the canton of Uri. The cable car to Eggberge is easily accessible via public transportation. Paragliding is possible year-round, and the launch site is within walking distance, offering stunning views of the Reuss delta and surrounding mountain peaks during your flight.
The official landing zone is in Flüelen. In spring, the area is particularly suitable for cross-country flights to the north, west, or east. During summer evenings, you can enjoy excellent thermals for extended flights.
Be cautious of hay cables in the direction of Rophaien. From Flüelen, take the cable car to Eggbergen, a small ski village at around 1500 meters. The cable car runs every half hour. From the top station, it's a 20-minute walk to the windsock, best done along the ski lift track. The launch site is a moderately steep grassy slope with a breathtaking view over the deep blue lake.
Experienced pilots can enjoy the reliable thermals from the cliff face opposite the launch site at Rophaien.
