Paragliding Eggberge 1580

At an altitude of 1580 meters, this site is occasionally used for winter launches. It offers opportunities for soaring and some cross-country (XC) flights. Region: Uri, Switzerland. The site record is 18.3 km. You can reach Eggbergen by taking the cable car from Flüelen, which runs every half hour. Eggbergen is a charming little ski village situated at around 1500 meters. From the top station of the cable car, it's about a 20-minute walk to the windsock. The best way to cover this distance is by following the ski lift track. At the end of the lift track, you'll find a hilly meadow with a stunning view over the deep blue lake, which serves as the launch site. If you bring your paraglider, you can enjoy a glide of over 1000 meters in altitude from the launch site to the landing area, with breathtaking views of Lake Lucerne (Vierwaldstättersee). Eggbergen is not just for scenic glides; experienced pilots can take advantage of the reliable thermal lift provided by the rock face of Rophaien, located opposite the launch site.
