To access the launch site, you can use a pair of miniskis and an anchor ski lift, or alternatively, use a small wind and kite up on skis. The local skiing resort in Lapland offers a unique flying experience, often allowing flights over ski jumps. The best-achieved altitudes here exceed 500 meters.
Please be mindful of the ski tracks, kite surfers, ice fishers, and curious onlookers in the area. This site is considered one of the best ridge flying locations in Finland.

Kotkan Siipiveikot has rented these sites specifically for paragliding. To cover the rental costs, a usage fee is charged:
- Daily usage fee: €15
- Annual usage fee: €30
- Four-year usage fee (2009-2012): €60
The fee should be paid within a week of the first use of the launch site. Payments are made to Kotkan Siipiveikot's account number 800026-32106778, with the message "Huuha-Vaivio". Additionally, a message should be posted in the Siipiveikot guestbook section for Vaivio/Huuhan usage fee.

Please note that Kotkan Siipiveikot does not clear the roads, but diligent pilots may occasionally do so. Costs are shared among users based on usage frequency and are collected on-site. Each user is responsible for any damage they cause.
