This surf spot is considered the best in North San Diego when it's working, although it can be quite inconsistent. Ideal conditions occur with swell from the north, northwest, or west, and an east or northeast wind. It works at all tides, particularly during rising tide. While weekdays see few surfers, weekends can get crowded. Surfers should be cautious of rips, undertow, and potential pollution from nearby man-made structures.
