Description

Venus Bay Beach 4 & 5 - Venus Bay This open beach break features sandy bottoms with fast and powerful waves, breaking both right and left. Ideal conditions occur with swells from the west and southwest, particularly at mid to high tide during rising tide. The wave height is best between 0.5m and 1.5m, while anything over 2m can be challenging for inexperienced surfers. Venus Bay is a stunning and relatively secluded surf spot, approximately 170 km from Melbourne, accessible via five car parks. The beach stretches 30 km from Smythe Point to Cape Liptrap, offering instant access with less than a 5-minute walk. The atmosphere is tranquil, often allowing surfers to enjoy the waves alone, with occasional sightings of seals and dolphins. Be cautious of rips and undertows, especially when conditions are big. Water temperatures range from a maximum of 20°C in summer to a minimum of 10°C in winter, so appropriate wetsuits are recommended.
