Surf The Bluff

The Bluff - Alexandra Headland The Bluff features right-breaking reef waves over a sandy and rocky bottom, offering ordinary to fun power. This spot is accessible from the south end of Maroochydore, with a short walk (5-15 minutes) from parking at Alex Point. It works well at all tides and is best with east swell and east winds. This surf spot is popular among locals and tourists alike, known for its relaxed atmosphere and a mix of longboarders and shortboarders. While it can get crowded, especially on good days, the vibe remains mostly chill, making it suitable for surfers of all abilities, including beginners. The waves are forgiving, but be mindful of the competitive longboard scene. The Bluff is particularly enjoyable when the swell reaches around 1.8 meters (6 feet), providing fun rides and the occasional barrel.
