Surf Shipwreck

Shipwreck - Lagos Shipwreck features a right-breaking artificial reef wave over a sandy bottom, ideal for fun and powerless sessions. The spot is best accessed by chartering a boat from the jetty near the US Embassy on Victoria Island, taking about 1 hour to reach. It works at all tides and offers consistent swell primarily from the south. Nestled between Lagos and Benin, Shipwreck is a hidden gem that requires a bit of effort to access, but the pristine waters and reliable waves make it worthwhile. The area is typically uncrowded during the week and on weekends, providing a tranquil surfing experience. Upon arrival, a short bush walk leads to the surf spot, where surfers can enjoy the clean conditions. However, caution is advised due to man-made hazards in the vicinity. Bring plenty of water and snacks for the day, as amenities are limited.
