This site is frequently used and offers dynamic and thermal soaring. Cross-country flights are possible.
Region: Waldstetten, Germany. For more information on flights near this point, visit the local club's website: [Gleitschirm- und Hängegleiter e.V. Drei-Kaiser-Berge Waldstetten](https://www.flieger-waldstetten.de/fluggel%C3%A4nde/).
Access: You can reach the site by car or on foot. If you're coming from Schwäbisch Gmünd, head towards the center of Waldstetten, then take the second exit at the roundabout towards Weilerstoffel. After about 400 meters, turn right behind the advertising column. The narrow road leads directly to the ski hut. If you're coming from Straßdorf, take the first exit at the roundabout towards Weilerstoffel.
Parking: Park in the front, gravel area of the ski hut's parking lot. The paved area around the ski hut is reserved for guests and staff. Please turn around first and then park at an angle.
Guests are welcome.
Every pilot must carry an LPD radio and be ready to listen and speak on Channel 7 (433.225 MHz). Before launching, a fee of 3 euros for a day membership must be paid to a club member. Guest pilots must obtain launch permission by personally registering with a club member (via radio if no member is on the ground). All instructions from club members must be followed.
Note: The launch direction is northeast. If the wind deviates more than 45 degrees, do not launch. The trees on either side of the clearing can create dangerous turbulence.
Airspace: Our flying site is within the airspace of Stuttgart Airport. Controlled airspace D 'Segelflugsektor Göppingen' begins at 5,500 ft MSL (1670 meters). Additional altitude clearances can be requested from 'Langen Information'. Without such a special clearance (rare in the Göppingen sector), the ceiling is always at 1670 meters. Clearances from other glider sectors, such as 'Alb-Nord', are not valid here. The airspace map provides a good overview.
