Description
The flying site in Vaud, Switzerland, is renowned for hosting the legendary RedBull-Vertigo competition. The take-off point is located at an altitude of 1420 meters and is easily accessible by car, taking approximately 30-40 minutes from Villeneuve. Alternatively, you can use shuttles from Rennaz provided by local clubs and schools.
The official landing zone is about 500 meters from the lakeside, making it less ideal for water training. During events, the landing platform is situated next to the small sailing harbor, offering a long glide with an acro glider, reaching about 500 meters above the water. Be cautious of the valley wind, which can remain calm or pick up to 20-30 km/h in the summer, entering from the northwest (from the lake towards the land). Watch your placement carefully when the breeze is visible on the lake's surface.
Important: The green area west of Villeneuve is a protected nature reserve, and flying over this terrain is strictly prohibited. This includes landing on the small dirt field behind the harbor/camping site.
For more information and shuttle services to the take-off, visit the local school at [Fly Riviera](http://www.flyriviera.ch/).
