Coastal cross-country flights are possible, and top landing is common. Meeting Point: Lido La Murena Takeoff Locations: Pandolfo, Delta, Marinella (approximately 450 meters) Landing: Next to Lido La Murena The large, gently sloping meadow makes for an easy takeoff. Flights are only conducted when top landing is possible, as there is no suitable landing area at Vibo Marina. Emergency landing options require sufficient experience. Top landing is straightforward. Directions: - Drive through Pizzo on SS 18 towards Vibo Valentia until kilometer 429.4 (end of the town). - Turn towards Maierato and drive up the winding road to the plateau, passing under the highway. - Continue straight at the junction. - Turn right towards Vibo Valentia at the fountain. About 50 meters before the larger road junction, turn sharply right onto a small road, passing a house with the sign 'Marcelleria'. - At the fountain, keep right along the wall towards the sea. The narrow paved road can be driven up to the takeoff area. - Continue straight up to the takeoff area, which is the large meadow after the house on the right side of the road. From S. Onofrio, you glide with a view of the Gulf of Sant'Eufemia to the beach of Vibo Valentia, where you will be greeted by curious locals and Enrico's homemade ice cream. Challenges: - At S. Onofrio, the trees on the right side can be hazardous. - Registration is required at Pizzo.
