A magical place for paragliding, high cliff with mountains of sand tho theirs feets. Take a look on the Theo blic Vlog.
The Super Dunes in Yemen, near Sudan, offer a unique paragliding experience with passat winds hitting a 600-meter high ridge. This location is ideal for adventurers and strong coastal wind riders. The landscape is desolate, mysterious, almost uninhabited, and wild, yet incredibly stunning. There are two main wind directions throughout the year. From October to April, the winds come from the NE-NNE direction. From June to September, the winds shift to SSW, which are not flyable. Typically, the NE/NNE winds are too strong for normal paragliding, making April and October the safer months for flying.
The northern monsun winds (which are interesting for soaring) start around November and end at the beginning of March.
That seems to be quite reliable.
In November/December the wind is quite strong, and the climate is quite humid with a lot of clouds and rain showers.
The best time seems to be mid January to mid February.
The chances for rain are very little, the wind is reliably blowing every day, but it's not too strong.
At the end for February / beginning of March you might have several days with very light wind.
