The launch site at Seefelder Joch, located above Seefeld at an altitude of 2061 meters, offers a height difference of approximately 850 meters. This site is regularly used for soaring, with some limited cross-country flying possible due to airspace restrictions near the Inntal Valley and Innsbruck. The main launch direction is west.
The region of Seefeld in Austria has a site record of 51.9 km. The launch site is accessible via the funicular to Rosshütte and a gondola ride to Seefelder Joch. Multiple launch directions are available, including southeast, east, northeast, north, northwest, west, and southwest.
It is strictly forbidden to fly over the Inntal Valley. The landing area is located next to the Golf Academy.
Thermic conditions are often favorable in summer and spring, typically starting around noon. Westerly weather conditions provide very good flying conditions. However, a north wind can create broken thermals, making launch conditions very rough. In summer, the "Bavarian Wind" (north wind) usually sets in between 14:00 and 15:00.
