Description
At an altitude of 2033 meters with a height difference of approximately 850 meters, this paragliding site in Seefeld, Austria, is rarely used and offers limited opportunities for cross-country flights. The site record is 51.9 km, and the distance to the landing area is around 3.1 km.
You can start from various directions including southeast, east, northeast, north, northwest, west, and southwest. Access to the launch site is convenient via the funicular to Rosshütte and a gondola ride to Seefelder Joch.
Flying east of the ridge path, you can reach Seefelder Spitze and even venture further to Nördlinger Hütte. However, it is strictly forbidden to fly over the Inntal Valley.
The landing area is located next to the Golf Academy.
During summer and spring, thermals typically set in around noon, providing very good conditions with westerly weather. However, a north wind can create broken thermals, making launch conditions very rough. The "Bavarian Wind" (north wind) usually sets in between 14:00 and 15:00 during summer.
Please be aware that the Seefeld Plateau is near controlled airspace, and flying into or crossing the Inntal Valley is strictly prohibited. You can fly freely on the Seefeld Plateau, except in the Karwendel Alpine Park.
