Description
This paragliding site, located near Orihuela, is rarely used and is ideal for walk & fly, thermal soaring, and possible cross-country flights.
To get there, take the Murcia-Alicante road. If you're coming from Orihuela towards Murcia, after passing the Palmerales tunnel, you'll find the entrance to the Bonanza urbanization about 1.5 km ahead. Drive up as far as you can within the urbanization. About 200 meters to the left, behind the San Jose Obrero school, is the landing area.
You can drive up to the base of the mountain and then start a hike that takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes at a relaxed pace. Make sure to bring water and a hat for the hike. Begin the ascent on the right and head left. The takeoff area is the first reddish wall you see on your left.
The wind orientation for flying is from southeast to northeast. The takeoff has an elevation difference of nearly 500 meters and is suitable for thermal soaring. The site offers good takeoff and landing conditions. Around midday, you can find excellent thermals, allowing you to gain an additional 1000 meters from the takeoff point.
