Description
At an altitude of 1881 meters, this paragliding site is considered medium in difficulty. It is primarily a walk-and-fly location, with only one flight log found, indicating a glide down into the valley around the mountain.
To reach the launch site, start from Eggen and follow the marked path to Lutersee. From there, head northeast to the summit, which takes about 90 minutes. The launch area is a small, moderately steep to steep grassy slope located south of the summit.
The site is accessible via a lift directly from the ascent to Engelberg. The lift operates in two stages, passing through Rugisbalm to reach Eggen. From Eggen, it's just a few minutes' hike up the slope to the launch point.
The area around Salistock is more suited for hikers. The hike passes by Lutersee and takes approximately 90 minutes.
Flight options include a glide to the landing site at Grafenort or thermalling up to continue flying towards Buehlen, Wirzweli, Brunni, or Haldigrat. Be aware that the Engelberg Valley has numerous cables, which can pose a hazard.
