From there, follow the marked hiking trail to Alp Walen. The takeoff site is a moderately steep alpine meadow with a few scattered fir trees, located above Brunniswaldflue. Flight options include a simple glide to the landing site in Grafenort, suitable for flight students and leisure pilots, or thermalling up and continuing towards Brunni or Haldigrat. Be cautious of cables and wires throughout the Engelberg Valley. Wildlife protection zones in Engelberg require no takeoffs or overflights before 11:00 AM.
