Located in the Province of Luxembourg, Belgium, the Rochehaut site offers a unique paragliding experience with a height of 310 meters and a height difference of 120 meters. This site is rarely used but offers some opportunities for soaring flights. The site is open all year round and is suitable for both hang gliding and paragliding. The finesse is rated at 3, with a distance of 400 meters. The launch area is a well-maintained grassy slope that can accommodate a maximum of two wings at a time. It is crucial to respect the site as it is classified by the Commission of Monuments and Sites, ensuring cleanliness, silence, and preservation of vegetation. Before taking off, pilots must read the FBVL site panel. The site is reserved for members of the FBVL or a foreign federation, and individual aerial liability insurance is mandatory. The take-off area is located right next to the national road 499, with the 'Le Balcon en Forêt' hotel-restaurant just 50 meters away. There is ample parking 30 meters from the site, and refreshments and light snacks are available 200 meters away. The 'Le Terne' guesthouse, catering to free flight enthusiasts, is located 5 km from the site. The site can become very turbulent with winds exceeding 20 km/h or in gusty conditions. There are many tourists in the area, so caution is advised, especially regarding cigarette disposal. The short take-off can be challenging in calm or crosswind conditions. The type of flight available includes ridge soaring and local thermal flying. However, there is a medium tension power line located 600 meters to the left, which poses a danger. There are very few landing options directly behind the take-off area, except to the left. The site can become very turbulent with winds over 20 km/h.
