Description
This site is located at an altitude of 611 meters with a height difference of 340 meters. It is a southwest-facing launch site, exclusively for pilots with a B-license and only with formal briefing. It is occasionally used and considered more of a backup option for southwest to west-southwest winds, primarily by locals. Thermal flying and cross-country flights are possible, but soaring is rare.
Region: Goslar, Germany. Nearby flights can be viewed here: [818]. The site record is 132.6 km. For more information, visit: [Rammelsberg Information](http://www.hdgv-goslar.de/html/rammelsberg.html).
The launch is a narrow clearing and should only be attempted with direct wind. After launching, pilots must return to the landing point immediately, which is 50 meters below the launch height. There is an emergency landing spot in the valley to the right of the launch point, but it is strictly for emergencies and not recommended for regular use.
For more details, visit: [HDGV Information](http://www.hdgv.de/?page_id=281).
Since April 1, 2005, there has been a launch site for southwest winds with specific regulations due to its unique characteristics. Guest pilots must read the rules here: [Guest Pilot Rules](http://www.hdgv.de/?page_id=1072).
Please do not walk through the forest from one launch site to another, as wildlife protection is taken seriously.
