Description
The Rammelsberg, located at the northern edge of the Harz Mountains, south of Goslar, stands at approximately 635 meters. The elevation difference from the launch site to the landing area ranges between 250 to 300 meters, depending on where you choose to land on the large landing meadow. The main launch site faces northwest, making it suitable for wind directions between 270° and 360°.
This site is frequently used and offers excellent soaring and thermal flying conditions, with occasional opportunities for good cross-country flights. It is one of the better mountains in the low mountain range, particularly suited for northwesterly winds. The local club is very active, and you can reach the launch site either by the club's bus or on foot.
