Description
At an altitude of 2868 meters, this paragliding site near Pontresina offers challenging conditions. It is primarily used in winter and occasionally provides good cross-country (XC) opportunities. The site is known for its good soaring conditions with a northwest wind, although it is not frequently used.
Winter:
Launch Site 1:
Launch from the right side of the mountain station (facing uphill). If the wind is too strong here, you can switch to Launch Site 2.
Launch Site 2:
Launch a few meters below the mountain station on the left side (facing uphill). Land south of the valley station next to the piste. Good wing handling is required due to the unprepared terrain between the cable car and power lines. It is advisable to prepare in the wind shadow of the mountain station.
Summer:
Launch Site 3:
Walk approximately 15 minutes from the landing site to reach the launch point at Spion.
General Information:
In addition to the cable car and high-voltage power lines near the slope, there are also other explosive cables in the area.
