Description
Located in the Peloponnese region of Greece, the paragliding site in Achaia offers a take-off point at an altitude of 1150 meters. This site is regularly used for soaring, with some potential for cross-country (XC) flights. The site record stands at 40.1 km.
The lower take-off point from Panahaiko is at an altitude of 1100 meters, with coordinates UTM 34S 572780-4231154. You can fly with Southwest-West and Northwest winds almost every day of the year. The site is approximately 45 minutes from Patra. To reach the take-off area, you pass Zastova, turn left towards the Panahaiko shelter where the dirt road begins, and continue past the abandoned sanatorium building, which serves as the landing area. From there, you ascend the mountain to the take-off area.
The take-off ground offers a panoramic view of the city of Patras and the Patraiko bay. The area is spacious but has a slight inclination. Flights can be extended, with cross-country routes available to Rio, Omblo, the top of Panahaiko mountain, and further to Leondio, Rakita, and Kalavrita.
