Description
Nandi Hills, located about 70 kilometers north of Bangalore in Karnataka, India, is a popular paragliding destination. The area is known for its scenic beauty and historical significance, making it a great spot for both adventure and relaxation.
The take-off point is just outside the Nehru House, a charming and inexpensive old-world bungalow, situated on a 600-meter high granite outcropping. This mountain offers multiple take-off possibilities for intermediate to advanced pilots on various faces, with unlimited landing possibilities in the plains below. You can choose between thermic conditions during the day or fly the restitution for smoother conditions. It's an excellent site for cross-country (XC) flying.
There are five launch sites that accommodate winds from S-SE-SW-N-NE-NW:
- The South launch is a cliff launch with a rocky surface.
- The SE launch site is a large grassy slope.
- The SW launch site is a tight launch.
- The NE launch site is grassy with rocky outcrops.
- The NW launch site is located on the adjoining hill called Nandi-2, featuring a vast grassy, gentle slope that is toplandable.

Designated landing zones (LZs) are available to facilitate easy retrieval. More information can be found on [Fly Nandi](http://www.flynandi.com).
To get to Nandi Hills, you can drive or take a taxi from Bangalore. Government buses also connect Nandi Hills from the Bangalore bus station. Alternatively, you can take a train to Chikkaballapur and then an autorickshaw (Tuk-tuk) to Nandi Hills.
