Best Conditions
Description
Monte Vulture, located in Melfi (PZ), offers a paragliding experience with a takeoff altitude of 1200 meters. The height difference ranges between 500 and 900 meters. The site is rarely used but has potential for cross-country flights. The best conditions for flying here are thermal and restitution, with a maximum altitude of 2500 meters above sea level during summer.
The site faces North to Northwest and is accessible by car. However, be cautious of strong winds, which can pose a danger. Both paragliders and hang gliders can take off from this location.
To reach the takeoff point, drive through Rionero and follow the asphalt road from the cemetery to a farmhouse, then continue 300 meters across the field.
Registration is required by calling Attilio at 0972/238896. Be mindful of the military area located approximately 1 km to the right of the takeoff point.
