Description: In winter, the road to Obere Seewle is not accessible by car. However, the Metsch cable cars are operational. The flying area at Metsch offers long thermal flights starting as early as the end of February.
Access: Take the cable car and the 4-seater chairlift up to Metschberg. From there, walk along the edge of the ski slope to the windsock (about 10 minutes). Depending on the snow depth, this ascent can be challenging. Frequent use creates a path over time. We recommend walking an additional 10 minutes along the ski slope to Metschstand. This launch site makes it easier to catch thermals and has a restaurant with a sun terrace and panoramic views. The 6-seater chairlift also leads to Metschstand, but it can only be used with skis.
Landing Zone: Rothenbach, directly south next to the large parking lot and the valley station of the cable car. When planning your landing approach, be mindful of the cable car wires. Please also pay attention to the information board.
