Parapente Maratea Tiro a Piattello

The flying site "Tiro a Piattello" is located in Maratea (PZ). The takeoff altitude is 450 meters above sea level with a southwest to west exposure, making it an easy launch site. The landing site is 450 meters below the takeoff point, with a medium difficulty level. The distance between takeoff and landing is 10 km, and it takes about 20 minutes to drive between the two points using a single traction vehicle. The takeoff area is a shooting range for sports shooters. Shortly after takeoff, the landing site becomes visible to the right of the coastal cliffs. Top landing is of medium difficulty. To reach the site, drive along the coastal road SS 18 towards Maratea until kilometer 233.6, then turn towards Trecchina. At the roundabout, turn right towards Basilik Pontificia S. Biagio and follow the winding road up to the Maratea shooting range. Thermal conditions are favorable, especially in the morning on the left side of the takeoff point and in the afternoon along the ridge to the right. With good thermals, you can reach the statue of Christ at San Biaggio and even fly south to Catrocucco and back. The landing site is at Spiaggia Nera.
