Description
The Mont site above Courfaivre is oriented to the northeast. It often serves as an excellent alternative when the bise wind is too strong and cross at the Ordon launch in Boécourt. Notable flights have been made from Mont, especially during the Swiss interclub delta championships organized by VLJ and the Balsthal club in 2004.
Participants were initially skeptical upon seeing the launch site and its collapsing ramp. However, our president skillfully convinced some hesitant pilots by demonstrating the launch in a paraglider.
The exit, like most northern sites in the region, is relatively long. The key is to fly over the farmhouse roof and navigate into the 'V', slightly veering left to catch the first thermal and avoid the high-voltage line descending along the forest.
Access is via Courfaivre, taking the path up to the Soulce sheepfold. The road has some rough sections. Parking is available just left at the forest exit, or you can proceed to the sheepfold and park after the barrier, remembering to close it.
