The Linderenalp in Sarnen, Switzerland, offers an excellent paragliding experience with a take-off altitude of 1546 meters. The site is known for its ease of access and suitability for both soaring and cross-country flights. The launch directions are North, Northwest, and South, although winter flights are generally not recommended.
To reach the take-off point, drive to Sarnen, then Kerns, and follow the signs to St. Niklausen and Alp Blattisiten. From there, a 30-minute walk is required as vehicle access beyond this point is restricted without a special permit. The Linderenalp is a scenic gem, providing a height difference of over 1000 meters above the Sarneraatal.
The best flights are typically in the afternoon or evening due to thermal activity. In summer, the alpine hut is staffed, offering delicious cheese and dairy products. Be sure to check the airspace regulations on the information board at the start.
Landing zones are usually at Lido-Sarnen or Kerns-Dossenmatte. The area is under specific airspace regulations due to the proximity to Buochs/Alpnach and Emmen control zones. Flights are generally permitted outside of tower operation hours, but always verify the current status via the provided phone number.
