Description
The Grand Chamossaire launch site, located in the Vaud region of Switzerland, is occasionally used and seems to be the main launch for Chamossaire. You can reach it by walking up from the Roc d'Orsay mountain station. The flying season typically runs from spring to autumn. This site offers opportunities for soaring and some cross-country (XC) flying.
The launch site is situated at an altitude of 2050 meters. Access is via the Roc d'Orsay gondola, followed by a 20-minute walk to the summit. In winter, you can take the Bretaye-Grand Chamossaire chairlift. The launch direction is southwest, and the difficulty level is medium. Be cautious as the wind often comes from the side; if it's too strong, consider launching from one of the corridors to the right or descending to Roc d'Orsay.
Cross-country possibilities include routes to Diablerets, Gstaad, Interlaken, and Leysin. The designated landing zones are Marignac and Ollon.
For more detailed information, you can visit the Delta Parapente Club Villars Ollon Gryon website: [Delta Parapente Club Villars Ollon Gryon](http://www.dpcovg.ch/old/site/decollages/gd_chamossaire/gd_chamossaire.html).

Coordinates for the launch site are 7.0620748, 46.32526807, and the walking time from the chairlift to the launch site is approximately 10 minutes. The launch area is a small flat spot for layout, followed by a steep grassy slope.
