Located in Valle del Cauca, Colombia, this paragliding site offers an elevation of 1950 meters with a height difference of 744 meters. The main takeoff area is large, grass-covered, and easy to use, making it a popular spot for both solo and tandem flights. The site is frequently used, with many tandem flights taking off regularly.
Thermalling and thermal/dynamic soaring are common here, with flights typically ranging from 5 to 10 kilometers. Cross-country (XC) flights are also possible. While the thermals are usually not very strong, they are relatively reliable, providing consistent flying conditions.
Access to the takeoff area is possible with both 4x4 and normal vehicles, although some walking is required. The official landing zone is Acuarela del Sol, with fields around La Buitrera city also available for landing. Top landing is easy and possible.
For optimal flying conditions, the site requires sun in the flatlands and foothills. Local pilots have detailed information on flying at this site, and it's advisable to consult them for the latest updates.
Be cautious of potential theft when packing up, especially around the nearby city of Palmira.
