Description
At an elevation of approximately 1023 meters, this site is rarely used. Most flight logs originate from Kvitfjell North.
Take the lift all the way up and walk about 935 meters directly south. You will clearly see the highest peak marked with a cairn. For southern winds, ridge soaring can be challenging due to the start area being shaped like an iron, causing the air to split with minimal lift components.
This location is suitable for paragliding courses as it does not require a vehicle. The landing zone is directly west of the lowest lift house, which is open and spacious.
Pilots at level 2 need to launch and fly straight out into Gudbrandsdalen to clear the edge. Otherwise, they risk descending too far into the valley on the wrong side. Landing on the wrong side is possible but tight and requires a long retrieval.
