Located in the Kriens region of Switzerland, this paragliding site offers a launch altitude between 1872-1900 meters. It is moderately popular and frequently used, with potential for cross-country (XC) flights. The site is particularly good for evening soaring.
Launch Site:
The launch site, Klimsen, is situated on the northern side of Mount Pilatus, approximately 200 meters below the summit (Kulm). To reach the launch site, follow the signs through the tunnel to the northwest side of Pilatus. From there, you will need to descend for about 15 minutes, which can be steep in parts and includes a ladder. Good footwear is essential.
Alternatively, you can reach the launch site from Chrienseregg via the 'Brandweg,' which is known to be a very scenic hike.
The launch area is a contoured meadow below the hiking trail or near the chapel. The hike to the launch site takes about 15 minutes.
