At an altitude of 2500 meters, this paragliding site in Davos, Switzerland, is frequently used for soaring and cross-country (XC) flights. It is particularly favorable during the winter and early spring months, from around February to early May.
The Jakobshorn launch site, located approximately 300 meters below the Ice Bar at Jatzhütte, offers a starting altitude of 2590 meters. The site faces south-southwest (S-SW), making it ideal for flights in those wind conditions. The height difference from the launch to the landing zone is 968 meters.
The site record for a single flight is 86.9 km, showcasing its potential for long-distance XC flights. The area is popular among paragliders, with numerous flights recorded in the vicinity.
