Located in Italy, the takeoff site is situated on the peak of "Cuccuru e Fenogu," adjacent to a fire lookout tower, overlooking the town of Gonnosfanadiga. The takeoff area is spacious and free from obstacles, making it relatively easy to launch. Although the space for a run-up is limited, the good slope allows for a quick lift-off. Caution is advised when taking off in strong winds to avoid being dragged into the fence behind. The landing area is also spacious and obstacle-free, though the grass can be a bit taller in late spring. It is not visible from the takeoff point as it is located to the right. Thermal conditions during landing can sometimes require patience to lose excess altitude before final approach. Otherwise, the landing area poses no significant challenges. This site is known for its thermal flights, especially potent from late spring to summer due to its northern exposure. Cross-country flights are possible, with distances ranging from 25 to 60 kilometers. However, caution is needed when flying east or southeast due to the proximity of Elmas Airport and its controlled airspace. The takeoff orientation is northwest, and the elevation difference from top to bottom is 400 meters. The flight conditions are typically thermal and soaring, especially in the afternoon, with large mountains behind the takeoff area. This site is also suitable for cross-country flights.
