Conditions Optimales
Description
Elevation ranges from 480 to 630 meters. This site is occasionally used for walk-and-fly activities, with some potential for cross-country (XC) flights. There are multiple takeoff options available.
Takeoff: You can take off near the mobile phone mast or further down if the wind is strong. Another option is to take off on the NNW face. For a detailed map, visit [Streetmap](http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=256825&Y=728352&A=Y&Z=120).
Landing: Landing can be tricky due to limited space near the car park, with small trees growing in the clear patches. An alternative landing spot is approximately 1 km north of the car park, but be cautious of power lines. There are several normal power lines and a high voltage power line (pylons). Efforts to underground the high voltage line began in spring 2009, which should improve safety. This site is not recommended for beginners or inexperienced pilots; a BHPA Pilot rating or higher is advised.
Getting there: Park at the Burger Van at the top of Glen Ogle, 5 km north of Lochearnhead. After grabbing some food, walk up the forestry track to the top, which takes about 45 minutes.
Comments: In a W or NW wind, it is easy to go XC to the south towards Lochearnhead and beyond. In a W wind, it is also possible to fly along Loch Tay or Loch Earn.
Weather hazards: None specified.
Flight regulation: This is an LLSC site. For more information, visit the [LLSC Google Group](https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/LLSC).
