This site is regularly used and offers good cross-country (XC) potential with multiple launch options. Be cautious as there are two locations named 'Fronalpstock'; the other one is approximately 40 km east-northeast from here.
The Fronalpstock in Inner Switzerland is a majestic flying mountain, offering impressive vertical views and stunning scenery. It provides technically straightforward launch sites for almost every wind direction, although these quickly drop off into vertical rock faces after takeoff. Reliable launch technique is reassuring here.
Access to the summit is convenient via the cable car from Morschach or the funicular from Schlattli, followed by a chairlift or another cable car to Fronalpstock. The launch site is located just below the summit cross, 100 meters south of the mountain station. This site is also suitable for winter flights.

Flights:
Flights along the rock faces and then towards Urmiberg near Brunnen (inspect the landing site first), to Morschach, or for experienced pilots, towards Rütli and southwards are possible, all offering fantastic views. Despite the rock faces, Fronalpstock is not particularly known for reliable thermals, though it can sometimes work. However, it is absolutely reliable for soaring in Bise conditions.
Difficulty:
The launches over the cliffs are spacious enough, but good launch technique is still advisable for an enjoyable experience. Training is also conducted here.
Caution:
Weather and winds can change rapidly. Always keep an eye on the sailboats! Never fly in Föhn conditions, not even with a Föhn tendency! There is a 16kV power line near the launch and landing sites; the cables are almost invisible in the evening. When flying back from Lake Lucerne towards Morschach, avoid flying too close to the forest as there is a barely visible line from the village towards Fronalpstock.
