Description
Located in Colombia, this paragliding site offers a takeoff altitude of 1724 meters with a height difference of 753 meters. It is a medium-difficulty site, regularly used and privately owned by Harold Garcia. The site is known for its good thermal activity, making it suitable for thermalling and cross-country (XC) flights, with one recorded flight exceeding 200 km.
The takeoff area is accessible via a paved road that goes almost to the top, heading straight west from Yumbo and up the south face of the spine. The site is best used from early morning until noon, benefiting from anabatic winds for takeoff. The takeoff faces east to southeast, providing good thermal activity and nice landing areas just below. The site has excellent XC potential to the north. However, the angle on takeoff requires a good run for hang gliders as it nearly matches the glide angle of a pre-stalled hang glider.
