Conditions Optimales
Description
The Donnersberg in Dannenfels, Germany, is a thermally attractive flying site with two launch options: Bärenloch (East/Northeast) and Moltkefelsen (Southeast). Both launches are demanding and require excellent wing control. The Moltkefelsen launch was approved in 2007 and is situated in a forest clearing, making it essential for conditions to be favorable.
The site is frequently used for soaring and cross-country flights. Although there are two points named 'Donnersberg' on Leonardo, the other launch site is more commonly used. Currently, both points are combined on xc.dhv.de.
The Donnersberg Adlerbogen/Moltkefelsen flying area is open to all pilots. However, due to its challenging nature, it is strongly recommended that first-time flyers contact one of the designated briefing pilots listed below. Poor wing control or lack of knowledge that leads to a rescue operation or damage to the forest can harm the interests of those who maintain this excellent flying site.
Compliance with access and parking regulations is crucial. During peak times, especially on weekends, club members have priority over guest pilots.
For a briefing on this launch site, you can contact any member of the Donnersberg holding community (1. PDGFC e.V., Pfälzer Gleitschirmclub e.V., and Fliegergemeinschaft Stauf e.V.).
