Conditions Optimales
Description
The main takeoff point is situated at an elevation of 1050 meters with a height difference of 770 meters. This site is frequented by paragliders and offers opportunities for soaring and cross-country (XC) flights. The takeoff area has a good inclination but is somewhat rocky.
Located at an altitude of 1080 meters above sea level and overlooking the Alife plain, the Calvisi takeoff is one of the most popular spots in the Matese region. It caters to pilots of all skill levels, offering strong thermal conditions during midday and dynamic soaring until sunset. The site is ideal for cross-country flying due to the numerous landing options available in the Alife plain. The ridge, extending over 12 kilometers, allows for flights with winds coming from the South, Southwest, and West. The generous plain also enables cross-country flights with altitudes ranging from 1500 to over 2000 meters above sea level.
The takeoff has been frequently used for tasks in the Meridional Air Games, the regional championship of Southern Italy.
