Description
Bridge Hill, standing at 1023 meters, is a lesser-known paragliding site with limited flight logs available.
Wind direction is primarily from the east to southeast. To access the site, turn off SH73 onto the road leading to the environmental education center and follow the track until you reach the first saddle. Parking is available off the track in the saddle, or if you have a serious 4WD vehicle, you can drive up to Bridge Hill.
The take-off area faces east to southeast and offers ample space for multiple gliders. For landing, you can touch down next to SH73, just opposite the turnoff for the access road. Be cautious of the multiple adjacent power lines in this area. If you are uncomfortable with the proximity of the power lines, consider landing west of SH73.
Bridge Hill's take-off is only 100 meters above the landing zone, offering limited potential for cross-country flights. However, it can be soarable if the wind conditions are favorable or if you catch the convergence created by the incoming northeast sea breeze. This site is typically flown when there is a soarable wind on the face or when you prefer not to hike up Helicopter Hill or drive to Mt Cheeseman.
