Maximum of 5 guest pilots per flight day. Despite the small height difference, this is one of the best east wind sites in Germany. Beautiful cross-country flights are possible. Take-off is in a narrow forest clearing. With strong wind and/or strong thermals, conditions can be challenging, not suitable for beginners. The landing site is to the left in the direction of take-off. Driving to the take-off site requires a one-kilometer detour. The long ridge offers beautiful soaring opportunities. Böhming is an excellent east wind site in the Altmühltal. For strong east conditions, you need to start early; otherwise, you might be waiting until sunset. Hang gliders have it easier. The landing site is on the other side of the Altmühl River. For cross-country pilots, Böhming is a top choice. You can fly westward to Stuttgart without airspace restrictions. An introduction by the club and a start fee are required.
